Mr. Smith, this article is all too true. I am active duty, and the amount of men paying child support for children that are not biologically theirs is disgusting. As a woman, I am ashamed of other women who continue to demand money from men they tricked and lied to. But as Stacey pointed out, it does go both ways, we do need better support from commanders to enforce paternity issues, but we also need better laws to protect those of us who serve from being trapped into the financial responsiblity of supporting children who do not belong to them.

Hi Stacey,

I appreciate your response to truth-in-paternity for men, women and kids.

For your situation, did you know that it is possible to open a case with your local child support enforcement agency?

The cost of the service is or was $25. The application fee can be waived for low income parents, too.

If I were in your situation as a custodial parent, I would be filing today with a demand for a "monitored DNA paternity test".

I agree that children of unwed parents should be supported (physical, emotional, spiritual and financial) by both biological or formally adopted parents.

Sometimes there are evasive parents that require the firm approach to become fiscally responsible.

You may write me at director(at)paternityfraud.com if you want more information about another low cost option.

Sincerely,
Carnell Smith PfV

Your right men shouldn’t be stuck with children do to deceiving woman. There are other sides to stories.

I have a 3 year old child. Her father is a reservist in the marines. I have not seen him since I was 6 weeks pregnant. I have been unable to serve him for paternity test for 3 years. I have tried every thing. I have filled papers myself and through the government. He knows their after him for child support so he frequently changes jobs and refuses to answer the door. I have tried serving him on base, this doesn’t work either. They will not let someone on to serve him. I tried hiring the sheriffs but they don’t serve on weekends. Also DES (department of economical security) is getting the run around from the marines to. I have even contacted the sergeants and any high level personnel’s number I can get my hands on. I get the same response, DES needs to write to use in person. DES is aware of this and has sent documentation to the base, only for them to say they never received it. They have been giving me the run around for 3 years. I can’t afford a high price lawyer to defend me.

It makes me made that they are allowing him to hide. They should hand him over. How can they protect the United States and not hold there own men reasonable when they don’t uphold the law. My child has rights even though the two of use were never married. The military seems to forget this!
