DNA Paternity testing reveals common International problem
A Florida man is fighting to bring two Haitian children to the U.S., but there are several problems.
- Two DNA paternity tests have proven that he is not the father of either child.
- He cannot adopt the children because his name is already on the birth certificate.
- His wife passed away … does someone else know the truth like the children’s maternal grandmother?
- The biological father or the children’s paternal family may want custody
Could this problem have been prevented by legal paternity testing before placing an alleged biological father’s name on the birth certificate? US Citizens Against Paternity Fraud and PaternityFraud.com say yes, it would have been prevented.
Maybe it is time to abolish the marital presumption of paternity, worldwide? What do you think? I certainly hope that the truth will be used to correct the documentation. After the correction is done, then the stepfather could adopt the children and bring them to the US, unless the biological father and his family want custody. My .. what a tangled web and shown here when paternity fraud is not discovered very early.
There is a way to know who is the father that caused the mother’s pregnancy in most cases. It is called legal DNA paternity testing.
What would this story be like today, if the stepfather learned that he was not the father when the first child was a week old? Interesting …
